Another Great From Melissa & DougApr 12, 2008 Usually, I order the 36 piece puzzles for my Grandsons. The eldest is 5 years and his very capable brother is 3 years. The younger brother is
especially fond of puzzles and has been copying his older brother's
interests since he was 18 months. He will start a puzzle and complete it
without looking at the box front,to my amazement.I ordered the four set
piece because he can do it in a smaller space. Also,he is at the age where
he likes to put everthing back in its place.....and then start all over
again. He ususally likes a companion but he can also do them by himself.
I like the quality of these puzzles, they don't wear out.I am always
amazed how most small children like the same toys that have appealed
to other generations.Puzzles are fun, help hand eye co-ordination,teach
shapes, but mainly give the child the satisfaction of completing a task
by themselves.I give this one 5 stars. kathehemmer2
Perfect for the 3 year old boy!Apr 06, 2008 My 3 year old son loves these puzzles. They were difficult for him at first but it only took a day for him to learn to put them together all by himself. He loves to do them over and over. He feels so proud of himself. And, it's great that they store organized by vehicle in separate slots in the box they came in.

Easy to use & storeJan 02, 2008 My 3 year-old son got this for Christmas. He asks to play with it every other day or so. It's not too difficult for him, but he does need help. I like that the pieces all store in the box, so they don't get lost. The markings on the back make it easy to sort out which pieces go to which puzzle. There are only 12 pieces per puzzle, so it doesn't take too long to put all 4 together. We also love that you can use the lid of the box to put the pieces together on, rather than having to use the floor or a table. For the price and the variety, it's a perfect puzzle for a preschooler.

A sense of accomplishment for toddlers!Dec 06, 2007 The manufacturer suggests an age range of 3 years and up, but I gave my son these puzzles when he was 22 months old and he figured them out pretty quickly. Two months later, he's still fascinated by them. He now has the vehicle puzzle set and the construction puzzle set and spends long periods of time every day assembling and then re-jumbling them.
There are many levels of play possible with these puzzles. At first, I put the puzzles together while he watched. Soon, he was putting one puzzle together, after I'd separated the pieces of only that one puzzle out for him. Then he started breaking up all four 12-piece puzzles, jumbling up all 48 total pieces and assembling them again. Then he became fascinated with putting the puzzle pieces away in their little compartments. He's so proud of mastering these skills that he shows them off to every visitor. And now that he's memorized the puzzles, he puts them together as fast as I can!
Even if you think jigsaw puzzles might be a little hard for your toddler, I encourage you to try these. The feeling confidence the little ones get from understanding and mastering them is a great boost for them -- and their parents!

Perfect First PuzzlesOct 04, 2007 Our 3 year old loves these puzzles. He has put them together and taken them apart several times! They are a light weight wood and are very sturdy. We also have the ocean set and the construction set. They are a great quiet toy.
